Abolish the SAF

Seth Goldin
The Cavalier Daily, September 5, 2007

With the shenanigans of the Student Council Appropriations Committee brought to light ("StudCo leaders react to concerns about VPO performance," Sept. 3), students should take the opportunity to question why this committee even exists.

Every student, through the Student Activities Fund (SAF), is forced to fund CIOs in which they do not participate, and even organizations they may outright oppose. Abolish the SAF. Let each student pay for their own activities, without having the University steal their money to give to other organizations.
